剧情简介:
　　玛莎（Martha）和肖恩·卡森（Sean Carson）是一对来自波士顿的夫妻，并即将为人父母，但在家中分娩时因接生员慌张而导致孩子死亡，两人的生活发生不可逆转的变化，而接生员也面临刑事过失的指控。玛莎开始她漫长曲折的历程，在这一年间，她必须得克服悲伤、应付她与丈夫和控制欲强的母亲之间的艰难关系，以及必须在法庭上面对受到众人指控的接生员。
