  • 剧情简介: This investigative documentary explores the hidden yet legendary Tubing phenomenon in Laos. In 2011, over 27 tourists died from drink, drugs and drowning. This film follows the bacchanal partying lifestyle of the backpackers who stop off at this semi lawless, self made Never Never Land in what is otherwise a peaceful Utopian paradise. The audience is shown a unique & immerse perspective of the situation, and observes what effect the influx has had on the traditional & inherently welcoming local community. Viva Vang Vieng captures the Swan Song and moments prior to the ultimate demise of this perpetual Saturnalia. It aims to stimulate debate about the ethics of backpacking and raises questions about how we should interact with cultures different to our own.
