TV weather man Bill Onion is made redundant and replaced by a sexy young woman. His chance for a comeback occurs when he is invited by best friend Jez to his wedding to the imperious Selina, where a TV executive to whom Jez will effect an introduction, is the best man. Selina does not like Bill, especially when he eats pastries destined for a charity function and worse is to follow when Bill and his wife Faith lose the wedding present and replace it with cheap glasses bought at a garage. To save the day Bill swaps labels with an expensively packaged gift, only to find that he has somehow doomed himself to becoming a bone marrow donor.
