Plot: After an illustrious career in acting, Courteney Cox tries her hand in directing. 'The Monday Before Thanksgiving' is a well executed slice of life. With tight editing, interesting camera angles and some great lines, it is an entertaining watch. The photogenic visuals are appealing. Laura Dern stars in the lead role and she does a wonderful job along with Courteney Cox who delivers a natural performance as Theresa's friend Cece. Rosemary Harris has a very effective presence. There is an overall poetic and whimsical feeling to the film. The story itself is somewhat of a philosophical nature but nothing overly complex. With her debut, Cox proves to be a brilliant writer and a competent director. I would like to see her make more such films.
