Plot: It is true that films about fallen women are a common element of all national film industries.There are some films which subtly glorify the oldest profession in the world.There are also films which denounce this inhuman practice which is nothing short of slavery.If somebody is looking for a life affirming film about the lives of prostitutes,one must watch this powerful film which tackles the plight of these unfortunate women in a poetic manner.Dry Eyes is a film which talks of a disreputable Berber village inhabited by women who sell their bodies. There is no escape for its inhabitants as there is too much of masculine influence in their lives.All this is told from the point of view of two courageous women who represent ancient and modern.There is an element of authenticity as this film was shot in a real Berber village featuring real women who have been a part of flesh trade for ages.So this is the fact one must bear in mind before watching this great film."Les yeux secs" is the debut film directed by Moroccan Narjiss Nejjar who is a talented woman filmmaker based in Paris.
