Plot: As WWII begins, vaudeville entertainer Tommy Towers is called up to serve. He arranges a job for his girlfriend at the local pub. To keep moral up, his commanding officer orders him to perform for the troops. In addition to annoying his General, the commanding officer, the pub owner, his girlfriend, and the audience, Tommy manages to escape the brig and go AWOL (absent without leave). Hyjinks ensue. All is forgiven as Tommy stages the best dang musical to take the public's mind off the fact they are losing the war. Tommy nabs a big promotion and gets the gal.
