Plot: Against the backdrop of the Nazis' rapid rise to power, the impecunious Greek music student, Nelly, arrives in 1936 Berlin. Like a fish out of water, Nelly strikes up an acquaintance with the compassionate cabaret performer, Willi Foster, who, not only takes her in but also catapults her career as a rising singer.
