Plot: I was sixteen when I went to see this at an out-of-town cinema (to avoid being seen by a neighbour who worked at my usual haunt). The film has little or no merit and was not worth the bus fare and the half-crown entry cost.It is badly dubbed and fuzzily photographed.The colour is not good, but at least not the garishly unattractive Technicolour which was the only real alternative back then.Although the film was widely trailed and advertised by word of mouth, it still failed to attract the audiences you might expect in those distant, post-Victorian times.It is worth noting that the second half of the sixties produced some fine films-Poor Cow, Up the Junction and other quality dramas before sinking into the mire of the "confessions" series and the poor large-screen versions of popular TV shows; this movie had neither the drama nor the faintly embarrassing humour of any of the above.
