  • Plot: This Al St. John comedy looks like it was written in a hurry, since it steals extensively from Chaplin's THE IMMIGRANTS and HIS NEW JOB. Towards the end there's an indication that St. John did his bicycle act, but the print I saw tonight at the Museum of Modern Art looks like someone clipped that out to take home. The story involves St. John getting thrown out of a restaurant and under the car of his (unidentified so far) co-star. She sends him to the film studio where she works and where the majority of the film takes place. It's all competently done but we've seen it all done before.
