  • Plot: An entry in the series to celebrate the hundredth birthday of multi-talented Johannes Heesters. This time this tenor is active as straight comedian and only gets to sing under the opening titles plus two bars at the end. He's in great shape as always, and doesn't need another comedian to support him - Theo Lingen's comic relief sidekick is rather annoying, though technically he was one of the most perfect slapstick comedians of the period. The leading ladies are quite lovely and get to wear some nice evening gowns and pajamas, but the film really doesn't take off before it's more than halfway through. Most of the action takes place in a luxurious hotel and involves a missing briefcase with some internationally important documents which need to be recovered at whatever cost - not really a terribly interesting point to start with. Anyway, not a bad flick and quite worthy of a place in your collection of Johannes Heesters or Third Reich films.
