- Plot: Billy Sullivan is less interested in manning a desk than flying his father's planes, so Thomas Langham fires him. Billy and pal Milburn Morante head off. While trying to promote some fuel, they save the blueprints of inventor Lafe McKee. He has a pretty daughter, Molly Malone, and his own entry in the same race that Langham's plane will be entered. The winner will get a government contract. However, there's dirty work afoot around McKee's base, and there's a Mysterious Stranger hanging around for some reason. Will Billy fly Langham's plane? Will he win the race and Miss Malone? In a movie in which a cast member wears a soup-strainer mustache and is credited as "Mysterious Stranger" can there possibly be any surprising surprises?Billy Sullivan, the nephew of boxer John L. Sullivan, was born in 1891. He entered the movies in the mid-teens, where he worked as an assistant director. His first appearance in front of the cameras seems to have been in tHE MILLION DOLLAR MYSTERY. By the mid-twenties he was starring in Universal short westerns and appearing in Poverty Row features like this. His career slid into uncredited bits by the mid-thirties, and he died in 1946.There's little in this one except for the interest in seeing Miss Malone in her last movie, and some aerial shots.
