  • Plot: Important note: This is not a film review. I hope to be able to find and add as many silent film synopsis of films that have a survival status of unknown or presumed lost. I try to do as much research as I can and it is not my intention to deceive anyone, for sometimes the film does exist and some presumed lost films are still being discovered. I am more than delighted if someone has knowledge of a film listed as lost but survives, as I wish all silent films did survive. I hope the reader enjoys this brief synopsis.Clinton Philbrook ( Warner Baxter ), a wealthy young idler, is in love with aristocratic Alicia Van Orden ( Sharon Lynn ), but she refuses to marry him until he proves his worth. When Clinton's rival, Leigh Morlock ( Freeman Wood ), insults him at an exclusive club, Clinton strikes Morlock but is himself given a severe beating; Alicia refuses to see him again because of the resulting scandal. In despair, Clinton goes to a Canadian lumber town, and thence on a trapping expedition with Pierre Bechard ( Raoul Paoli ), a woodsman. When Morlock is lost on a hunting trip, Clinton finds him in the mountains, treats his wounds, and carries him back to the lodge. Alicia admits her love for Clinton but exacts a promise that he not fight Morlock; he agrees, but when taunted by his former rival, Clinton gives him a sound trouncing, winning Alicia's admiration and love. This 1927 silent melodrama was produced by the by Robertson-Cole Pictures Corporation, starring Warner Baxter and Sharon Lynn.
