  • Plot: An affair of school days, when she wrote many foolish letters, has placed Mrs. Wharton in the clutches of Reynolds, a clever society blackmailer. When Mona and Mary learn of her plight their pity causes them to lay a trap for Reynolds that will cost him dearly. Mona, by a clever ruse, secures a position in the schemer's household. When she learns that Reynolds keeps the papers and letters that form so large a part of his stock in trade under guard in a safe she instructs Mary to call in the aid of Stallings, a well-known cracksman. There is cross-play of action from then on, with the fate of the girls' plans at times in doubt, until the close finds Mrs. Wharton happy in the recovery of the letters that remove her from the vulture's power.
