Plot: Lydia is a high-flying corporate lawyer who happens to be Malay but is deeply ingrained in Chinese culture. She loves eating Chinese food, listens to Chinese music from the 50s, and speaks Mandarin fluently. She is all-rounded, with a PhD, a penchant for driving BMWs and engaging in sports like sailing and basketball. Kiat is a chicken rice seller who has zero ambitions and is just getting by in life, contented with his bachelor life living with his mother in public housing. When the love between Kiat and Lydia blossoms over one too many plates of chicken rice transactions and the discovery of deep commonality, will they be able to overcome the multitude of obstacles and judgment to fulfill their destiny? Or will they be fated to meet but destined to part, like the Chinese saying "you yuan wu fen"?
