Plot: THE JUMP is a psychological thriller in which words are as deadly as bullets, where the line between life and death lies between a hundred foot cliff and the Pacific Ocean. On that line lives JONAH STUARD, the enigma at the center of our story. ALLIE MOSS lost her mother to suicide as a child. Now working as a writer for her father at a New York City newspaper, Allie travels to the Pacific Coast to interview Jonah Stuard, a local legend credited with saving hundreds of lives from suicide on a cliff near his home. Allie goes to Jonah for answers - about the nature of suicide, about her mother's motivations, and about what her father could have done to stop it - but Jonah has an agenda of his own. Wracked with physical and emotional pain, Jonah plans to pass his wisdom on... and jump off the Cliff himself. As Allie gets closer to this small town hero with the help of a self-destructive, boozy local detective, RHEA ANDELMAN, she discovers there may be more to Jonah's story than he intends to tell. Soon his sister's death and the deaths of others on the Cliff come into question. But if Allie wants to win the truth from Jonah, she must confront her own traumatic past under his guidance, and put a wrecking ball through a sleepy Cliff town that would prefer to ignore its terrible epidemic.
