Plot: "La Edad del Sol" reflects on the audiovisual creation through José María Nunes, an eighty-year-old film director who has an interesting cinematographic career. He was an integrate of the School of Barcelona, a Catalan movement that arose in the 60's with a Nouvelle Vague spirit. Nunes is one of the few directors of this period that remains active and faithful to his way of understanding cinema. Now, in his old age, he returns back to his major wish and he starts a new film, but this time it is about a farewell. Nunes never had things easy to shoot, already because of censorship, economic difficulties, or some opinions around him. He is considered a controversial character: genius for some, mad for others, but enthusiastic for all. He managed to do his films in the way he wanted, what gives him strength to approach his new project called "Res publica". His script is about a character that wants to commit suicide and starts an internal journey in order to say goodbye to his friends, his past and his life. The only character of the film, played by a close friend of Nunes, José Mº Blanco, becomes an alter ego of the film director. The documentary explores their relationship as well as their approach to the end of life and cinema.
