We produced a film based on recent brutal and barbarian acts committed by exactly the same type of gang. A couple of years ago in Europe the press called these people the "gang of the barbarians," a group of no less than 20 suburban youth who kidnapped, tortured and finally burned to death a 20 year old French Jewish cellphone seller. We are very proud of this film. It gets it both ways: on a directing level, it's very energetic and stylish; on the content level this film, based on a best-selling book, gives a unique immersion into the world and sick minds of these young barbarians. It also gives a unique take on what can be called modern anti-semitism, a cancer that effects not just France and its Jewish population, but also democratic countries and its citizens as a whole.
