  • Plot: Dokime is an experimental essay documentary which presents an ideological critique to the documentary genre. The work combines film theory with an eclectic montage from innovative early documentaries to reflect on the aesthetics and politics of non-fictional representation; on the rhetorics of truth of the documentary form. The film draws its inspiration from T.W. Adorno's essay 'The Essay as Form'; from his call for an open, self-conscious and critical mode of expression, which would bring together the formal sensitivity of art with the conceptual specificity of science.
