  • Plot: Cavalcade (Char du soleil) (1896) This Lumiere Brothers film has the camera appearing to be up on some sort of platform as it captures a parade going down the street. When it comes to these types of movies the entertainment comes from just being able to see something from the past exactly how it was. There's nothing ground-breaking to cinema here but I found the film to be entertaining as it gave you chance to see some interesting images as the various horses and costumes went down the street. The brothers would have been better off moving the camera down some of there's a person on the street with an umbrella, which interferes with the frame.
